About Us
About Us
Iran is a remarkable land emerging from a history and civilization of several thousand years, with a deep, rooted, and authentic culture that is unparalleled in the world. It is a treasure trove of science, wisdom, and knowledge that has captivated the world with its numerous renowned scholars, thinkers, and intellectuals.
A great person once said: Love for the homeland and understanding it is a necessity, not an incident, and now, in this brief opportunity, to speak of understanding this dear ancient land is an unparalleled necessity, a challenging task that can only be achieved through devotion and passion, allowing us to present a vast and deep ocean in a small vessel and to speak of a lofty purpose and aim.
The role of Iranologists and the goals of the project
This project is a tribute to the efforts of Iranologists who have worked and continue to strive to introduce the culture and civilization of Iran. The breadth, impact, and extensive nature of many of these research efforts have led to the recognition of various aspects of the culture and civilization of this land, and in this process, a large number of intellectuals, celebrities, and scientific, literary, and historical works of Iran have been introduced to the world. Since the goal of an Iranologist is to navigate the labyrinth of history and culture through study, research, and inquiry, the effort to achieve such a purpose has drawn the attention of the global community to the ancient civilization and history of this land and has led to the establishment of Iranology programs in many universities worldwide.
Timeline
This project has no time limit and strives as much as possible for continuity and to achieve its lofty goals. In this regard, the stakeholders, researchers, and writers in various sections of this project continuously endeavor to prepare useful and credible content for the use of communities and academic centers, hoping that these efforts will lead researchers to better achievements.
Dimensions of the Project
Language and Literature of the Project
The project of the Encyclopedia of Iranologists Studies is a research-educational database currently pursuing its objectives based on four major activities. These four activities, which are interdependent and complementary, address various issues related to Iran. Introducing Iranologists, recognizing Iranian intellectuals, authoring articles on Iranology topics and Iranian intellectuals, and gathering news and events related to Iranology are the four activities considered as the foundation of this project. Regarding the introduction of Iranologists and the extensive nature of this activity, it is important to note that at the beginning of the project, almost a thousand titles of Iranologists were identified for
introduction on the website, which gradually increased to over a thousand titles as the project progressed. It is noteworthy that this field of our project continues, and the list of Iranologists names is constantly growing.
Based on the vision, this project will have additional dimensions that will gradually be added to the current website to provide a more comprehensive overview of Iran. Sections such as Iranian folklore and literature, Islamic philosophy, history, civilization, religion, archaeology, architecture, and Iranian art, among others, will be included.
Currently, the content of this project is provided in Persian and English, which can be useful for almost all students of Iranology and researchers in the field of Iranian studies worldwide.
Format and Structure of the Content
Numerous books and articles have been written and published so far on topics related to Iranian studies. However, the stakeholders of this project aim to provide a certain structure for each section, which includes a concise summary of the existing documents in simple,
standardized language, in a way that attracts the attention and use of researchers both inside and outside Iran. Comprehensive content, maximally within five pages, with appropriate headings and a list of credible and citable references that facilitates the research path for seekers, professors, and students in the field of Iranology.
